My humblest greetings to all of you who are going to read this book!
I would like to quickly share where I found my inspiration to write this story.
Since childhood, I have had a deep interest in the mythological stories of ancient India. There are many examples of women who are both strong and empowering in these tales. One such woman is Devi Draupadi from the epic Mahabharata. While the stories of gods and kings having multiple wives are widespread and sung in glory, the story of Devi Draupadi is often spoken of as a curse rather than a boon.
I do not see her fate of marrying five husbands as a curse, and I believe many women would agree with me. This is where I drew my inspiration. I wished her story to be one where her marriage with five men is full of happiness for her, and not something sad that fate imposed upon her, as depicted in television series and movies today.
This is the story of a woman named Dhani, whose character is inspired by Devi Draupadi, and whose five husbands are inspired by the Pandavas. I wanted Dhani’s name to begin with the letter “D” as it is the first letter of Devi Draupadi’s name. Thus, I chose the name Dhani, which means liveliness and the color green, symbolizing prosperity.
Since this story is inspired by the tale of Devi Draupadi, it begins with Dhani receiving a boon from Lord Shiva to obtain her desired husband. His name is reverently mentioned many times throughout the story. This book contains explicit sexual content. It might hurt the religious sentiments of some readers. I would advise such readers not to proceed with the book. I myself have immense faith and respect for Lord Shiva and do not wish to hurt the religious sentiments of his devotees.
For those who choose to read this book, I hope you enjoy your time with it and that it provides you with a memorable experience.
